A NEWTOWNARDS firm has invested over £1m in new equipment to secure its future as a leader in packaging production.

Print Library, based at the Crawfordsburn Road, produces carton-board sleeves, cartons and boxes sourced from sustainable forests, with vegetable-based inks and vegan-friendly glues.

The latest investment has been made to purchase new machinery and technologies to enhance precision, traceability, and efficiency.

The new equipment includes an advanced prototyping machine, state-of-the-art inspection cameras and a new high-performance press, all geared towards increasing its generating capability by 30% additional.

The improvements not only streamline production processes but also serve to eliminate errors and uphold the company’s reputation for high standards.

Founded in 2001 by Geoff Truesdale and Michael Thompson, the duo’s business model is based on ‘deep commitment to sustainability, innovation, and customer service’.

“As the conversation around climate action and corporate responsibility continues to evolve, so too has Print Library, placing sustainability at the core of its operations and growth strategy,” according to a statement from the company.

Print Library has recently added carton production to its range of services, due to commercial demands.

All its products are fully recyclable, biodegradable and compostable, made with water-based coatings. The firm has also been awarded top marks in global food safety standards.

Michael Thompson said as the business grows, so does the responsibility to lead by example.

“Sustainability isn’t just a box to tick for us, it’s at the heart of every decision we make, from the materials we source to the machines we invest in,” he said.

“We want our clients to feel confident that their packaging is not only beautifully crafted, but part of a better future.”

The business is currently planning to expand across Ireland.
