IN a proud moment for Dungoyne Football Club, three sisters have made history by representing the club together for the first time.
The three Allan girls, eight year-old Tess and 10 year-old twins Charley and Maisie, lined out for the club’s 2016 team in the Danny Trainor Tournament, hosted by St Mary’s FC at Valley Leisure Centre, Newtownabbey, on Sunday.
As the first set of sisters to play together on the same Dungoyne team, they helped their side reach the final, before losing 2-1 to Antrim FC.
It was youngest of the three sisters, Tess, who stole the show at the tournament, scoring six goals on the day and winning the golden boot.
The milestone marks a special chapter, not just for the players and their family, but for the club and the local community.
Speaking after the match, Charley said: “It’s amazing to play together. We’ve always had each other’s backs on and off the pitch, and today was something we will never forget.”
Dungoyne coach Calvin Walker praised the trio for their achievement and dedication, saying: “Their unity and team spirit are an inspiration to both younger and older players across the club.”
