A NURSE at the Ulster Hospital has raised £1,100 by hosting a bake sale in aid of a charity which supports newborn babies and their families.

For the fundraiser, nurse Anna Beattie baked a number of cupcakes, cakes and cookies with every penny going towards the charity, Bliss, which supports the families of babies in neonatal care and works with health professionals to provide training and improve care for babies.

Anna also revealed will run the London Marathon in April when she hopes to raise £3,000 for the charity. She has already raised £2,180 through two bake sales.

“I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who purchased on the day, we sold out everything in one hour,” said Anna about her latest initiative.

“I am really looking forward to running for Bliss in the London Marathon this April,” she added.
