ARDS Football Club have announced a new management team for their reserve side following the recent resignation of Luke Buchanan, Matty Shaw and Luke Shaw.

The new team consists of Glenn Murray, Billy Murray and Dylan McAvoy, who have been promoted through the Academy pathway.

The Murray brothers have a long association with the club, both having played for Ards Reserves earlier in their football careers.

Meanwhile, McAvoy is also well known at Ards and has extensive experience with the Academy and the first team, currently holding the ‘B’ Licence while working towards his ‘A’ Licence.

The trio have been busy putting together a squad for the forthcoming
season – a challenging task after many of last season’s Championship Development League-winning team moved on.

Ards chairman Warren Patton said: “It’s great to have Billy and Glenn step up from our Academy, into the senior setup.

“They will be assisted by Dylan McAvoy, who has been in and around the first team and gained valuable matchday experience.

“We look forward to seeing the next group of young players emerge through the pathway to our first team and hopefully get appearances over the 2026/27 season.”
