ARDS Rugby players Robbie Johnston and Angus Christie played their part as Ulster Juniors retained the Interprovincial Championship with a 43-41 point win at Dromore RFC against their Munster counterparts.
Both players started the match, with Angus at scrum half and Robbie at centre. In the first half Angus scored a superb individual try, when he tapped a penalty to himself and ran in from the halfway line. Then in the second half, Robbie added the bonus point try when he crossed the line following good build-up play.
Former Ards player Tom Arthur Donnan was also part of the Ulster squad and came on during the second half at prop. All three were well supported by the large contingent of Ards supporters who travelled to Barban Hill.
It is extremely pleasing for all at Ards Rugby to see Ards Rugby 1st XV players representing Ulster Juniors and is testament to the club ethos of good coaching and building a great environment both on and off the pitch for the players.
Well done Robbie, Angus and Tom Arthur from all at Ards Rugby.
