Bangor Central beat Kilmaine in schools’ netball final

Bangor Central ran out the eventual winners of the primary schools’ netball tournament which took place at Bangor Aurora last week. The tournament was organised by Craig Brotherston, the council’s assistant sports development officer, and was run by Netball NI. The participating schools are here with Lisa Rickett and Erin Cunningham from Netball NI, who did a fantastic job on the day running the event. J46-3-1-25

THE fourth instalment in Ards and North Down Borough Council’s five-part school sports series took place last week at Bangor Aurora, in the form of netball.

Twelve schools took part in the latest initiative with Donaghadee, Ballywalter,  Millisle, Ballymagee, Londonderry, Towerview, Grange Park, Kilmaine, Holywood,  Bangor Central, Comber and Carrickmannon all entering teams.

Matches were strongly contested with all the teams displaying keen competitiveness and enthusiastic playing skills. The afternoon’s activities ended with Bangor Central recording a 4-0 victory over Kilmaine in the final.

The tournament was organised by the council’s assistant sports development officer, Craig Brotherston, and operated by Lisa Rickett and Erin Cunningham from Netball N.I. whose assistance during the day was invaluable.
