TRAVELLERS entering Comber will be greeted with signs highlighting the town’s ‘best kept’ status.Four signs have been erected in recognition of Comber being awarded the title of Best Kept Medium Town in the 2024 Northern Ireland Best Kept Awards, thanks to the efforts of local community groups and Ards and North Down Council staff.Judges praised Comber for its ‘outstanding cleanliness, vibrant public spaces, and the strong collaboration between community volunteers, local businesses, and council workers to maintain Comber’s charming appearance’.Viewing the new ‘Best Kept’ sign at Killinchy Road roundabout in Comber is Deputy Mayor of Ards and North Down David Chambers with (standing) Ivor Cooper and Rudi the dog, Inler Angling Club, Betty Ritchie, Comber Community Garden; Roy Murray, Comber Regeneration; Jonathan Matthews, Inler Angling and Darren Jamison, council parks department.
