AS PART of the 2024 Donaghadee Festival, the Morris Minor Owners Club is organising the annual classic car ‘Classics on the Pier’ event on Friday, July 26, between 5pm and 8.30pm.
This year parking places on the pier are made available through pre booking at £5 per vehicle.
Anyone who would like to attend with their pre 1998 vehicle is asked to contact Susan Shepherd on 078 8996 3999. However, anyone is welcome to attend and can bring along their classic car between 5pm and 5.30pm and proceed to the overflow car park at the pier end of the town, next to the Copeland Marina which also contains the Sir Samuel Kelly lifeboat.
The recently repainted Sir Samuel Kelly lifeboat will be also open for viewing on the evening where you can learn all about the role undertaken by the historic lifeboat including the Princess Victoria ferry rescue in January 1953. Proceeds from the event are being donated to the Sir Samuel Kelly restoration fund and the RNLI.
