Tens of thousands of pounds will soon be available through Ards and North Down Council’s sports development capital grant progamme.
The programme will shortly open for applications for financial assistance to eligible sports clubs for the delivery of capital projects, within Ards and North Down. The council has £45,000 available for the 2022/2023 financial year and can award up to 50% of eligible capital costs with a maximum award of £5,000 in respect of any one project. Grants are available for capital expenditure such as facilities or equipment, defined as ‘expenditure for technical assistance and/or purchase, improvement, restoration and construction of an asset directly related to the applicant organisation’.
Donaghadee Golf Club recently submitted a successful application for the grant programme and purchased two new golf buggies as a result. Capital grant applications will be open from Monday, April 4 at 12 noon and close on Monday, July 25, also at 12 noon. Applications will be assessed in August 2022 and presented to the council in September 2022.
Notification to sports clubs will be in early October following Council ratification.
