CROAGH PATRICK CELEBRATE 35YRS IN OPERATION

Happy birthday, Croagh Patrick.

Croagh Patrick Care Home in Donaghadee is celebrating 35 years in operation. The home was opened in February 1988 by owners Mr Bill Shelton and Mr Derek Rea, providing nursing care for residents.

Care provider Cresta Care took over running the home and then followed by The Four Seasons Group. As of July 2022, Croagh Patrick is currently owned by Beaumont Care Homes LTD. Croagh Patrick is situated on beautiful grounds and the residents enjoy spending time in the garden. The residents enjoy outdoor activities like planting bulbs, growing tomatoes, potatoes and herbs which our chef then uses in his cooking. Many local groups visit the home and have become friends of the home including but not limited to Bethel Hall Donaghadee, Bangor Buoys Choir, Shore Street Girls’ Brigade, Donaghadee Community Choir, Harbour Star Accordion Band and entertainer Drew Melville.

On Saturday, February 25, Croagh Patrick hosted a 35th birthday party for residents, staff, families and friends. Afternoon tea was served and the home was honoured to have the Mayor of Ards and North Down, Karen Douglas and local MLAs join them on the day, as well as many former employees and friends. Many stories of past years and happy times were shared, including Walter Love and his radio programme coming to the home, it’s a knockout competition with other care homes, 100th resident birthday celebrations, barbecues, day trips and weekends away were all recalled with joy and happiness

Happy birthday, Croagh Patrick.
