DONAGHADEE Young Farmers’ Club will mark 90 years of developing young people with an open celebration on February 22.Hosted at La Mon Hotel, the event will spotlight the club’s extensive achievements with a celebratory dinner, live music and archived photographs and memorabilia. The event aims to showcase the club’s versatile and supportive approach to personal development. Donaghadee YFC has 3,600 members between the ages of 12 and 30. The club helps local people gain insight into all aspects of country life and beyond, without the need for a farming background. It also prides itself on providing a safe environment for members to socialise and strengthen their skills by learning rural skills, competing in group debating and partaking in sports activities and arts workshops.Attendees can expect an impressive collection of photos which capture the camaraderie of the club, including documented stage performances, member meetings, charity fundraising, community events and competitive games, all of which are still upheld to this day.For those interested in joining the celebration, tickets can be purchased by contacting donaghadeeyfc@outlook.com, or Elizabeth Rea on 077 1839 2935. Tickets are priced at £30 for members and £40 for non-members. Donaghadee YFC also encourages anyone with photographs or memories of the club to share these in advance of the event.
