Sherman-Boyd brothers soar in the sun as IMC resumes
ON A very warm and sunny Sunday, the Irish Minibike Championship resumed with round three at the Nutts Corner circuit.
The main race of the day was for the Jim Farlow Memorial Trophy, presented by the Farlow family to honour Jim who sadly lost his life in an accident in the Southern 100 motorcycle race on the Isle of Man. The win and trophy went to Ruben Sherman-Boyd with Lewis Mullan second and Ciara Cahoon third.
Kelan Smith won the opening Sam Harson Memorial Stock 140 Veterans race from Mark Todd and Eion Smith. In race two, Todd claimed victory, followed home by Kelan Smith and Eoin Smith in both remaining races.
Buster Sherman-Boyd won the opening Neil Robinson Memorial Mini GP race from Alfie Flynn and Jack Hamilton. Flynn was first home in race two from Boyd and Hubert Tomaszwski, and he made it a double by taking race three from Boyd and Hamilton.
Boyd Knipe was unbeatable in the Road Racing Ireland Junior Gearbox class, winning all three races. He beat Kayne Fleming and Zak Turkington in race one, William Graham and Turkington in race two and Fleming and Graham in race three.
Ben Finnerty won all three Dualway Bam Bam races from Cody Morris and Jake Todd.
Buster Sherman-Boyd won three of the Crossan Motorcycles Junior Elite races from Lewis Mullan and Matt Davidson in race one, Mullan and Davidson in race two and Mullan and Cahoon in race three. Lewis Mullan was the overall four stroke class winner from Joel Haire and Davidson.
The first EICL Senior Stock Group1 race went to Richard McFarland from Jake O’Sullivan and Gary Wilson. O’Sullivan beat McFarland in race two with Wilson third and McFarland took race three from Nicky Burns and Wilson.
The TAGRacing Ireland Senior Stock Group2 race gave James Treacy three wins, beating Adam Lee McStravog and Alanna Maher in race one and McStravog and Maher in race two. Michael McAllister was runner-up in race three with McStravog third.
Ruben Sherman-Boyd won all three Athboy Karting Senior Open races, beating Chris McCallion and Nathan Ingram in race one, McCallion and Joe Quinn in race two and McCallion and Ingram in race three.
