KIRKISTOWN Race Circuit will play host to the latest round of the Irish Grand Prix RSA Rally this Saturday.
The event is expected to be popular amongst both spectators and competitors from around Ireland, offering an array of high-performance race machines, with over 125 competitors taking part in rally cars and race crosskarts..
The competition will feature a full entry of top-quality cars, including R5 Fiestas, Volkswagen Polos and Hyundai World Rally specification cars, together with ‘sideways’ rear wheel drive Escorts and Sunbeams.
Fast front wheel drive cars will also be in action on the track, with Honda Civics, Peugeots, Micras and Vauxhall Corsa’s and Nova’s all gunning for class and overall honours.
The event will also feature more than 60 European crosskarts, powered by phenomenally fast motorcycle 600– 1000cc race engines, as well as a field of over 20 Mini Cooper Cup race cars and the exciting Mazda MX5’s.
Spectators will be welcomed from 9am. Early risers will enjoy free access to the driver’s service area and experience pre-event preparation, car scrutineering, the general build-up to racing, which will commence at 10am.
Admission is priced at £15 for adults and £5 for juniors, while entry is free for seniors and U-12s.
