A PAIR of local MLAs met recently with disability day service team Strides at their new Conlig facility.
North Down MLA Connie Egan, along with Strangford MLA Nick Mathison, met with Strides Day Opportunities Service to discuss their work and to tour their new facilities in Conlig.
Speaking after the meeting Ms Egan said: “I really enjoyed meeting with the fantastic team at Strides Day Opportunities Service who empower young adults with learning disabilities through a range of programmes and support services.
“Strides have achieved so much and it has been a privilege to support their work as they have grown. Their move to a brilliant new site in Conlig will enable them to continue supporting people from right across the local area.”
Mr Mathison added: “Strides offer several services to meet the needs of their participants, ranging from health and wellbeing programmes, to work experience opportunities and help for young adults who would like to develop their independence, confidence, and life skills.
“I was pleased to meet with Strides to tour their fantastic facilities and to hear about the range of support services they are providing. I look forward to continuing to engage with them in future.”
