FORMER business rivals Hannah McKeag and Ruth Reid are reaping the rewards of merging their dance studios to form what has quickly become an award winning ballet school.
The dance teachers opened Ards Dance Centre, on Jubilee Road, Newtownards, in the summer of 2024 after bringing together their two successful businesses under one roof.
It has paid off for the two long-time friends who have won the prestigious title of Ballet School of the Year, presented at the Golden Dance Awards ceremony held at the Culloden Hotel, Cultra, last Saturday.
“It means so much to us,” said Hannah. “Ballet and jazz are the foundations of all dance. As teachers it is rare to get something to show how hard you have been working.”
That hard work has resulted in ballet pupils at Ards Dance Centre achieving excellent results in their Royal Academy of Dance exams.
Their dancers have also earned places in prestigious schools such as Tring Park, Joffrey Ballet School, NYC, and Pittsburg Ballet Company.
Students have had great success too in competitions such as the Classical Grand Prix and Global Dance Open.
