THREE kittens found in Newtownards after their mother was killed have been successfully rehomed.
The three beautiful kittens, named Morgana, Lancelot and Guinevere after figures from the legend of King Arthur, were discovered behind bins near the body of their mother who had been killed in a road traffic accident.
Andrew Doherty, Centre Manager for Cats Protection NI, said the kittens were saved by a quick-thinking member of the public and all have now been placed in loving homes.
We believe that these kittens sought refuge amongst the bins after their mum was sadly killed,” said Andrew.
“Thankfully the person who found them acted quickly, by taking the kittens into the warmth of their home and giving them some kitten milk. By this point they were ravenous and devoured it eagerly.
“After being contacted, our team immediately brought the kittens into the safety of our centre, where they received the critical care and TLC they desperately needed. Over the following weeks, we cared for them until they were happy, healthy, and ready to find their forever homes.”
By eight weeks old the kittens were fit and healthy despite their difficult start in life and have all now been rehomed.
Lancelot has been adopted by Anishka Rana who said the experience has been ‘absolutely amazing’.
“He’s such a gentle soul and so incredibly affectionate, we truly couldn’t have asked for a better companion,” she said.
“Lancelot wouldn’t be in our lives without the help of the team at Cats Protection, and we’re very grateful to them for their care.”
