Poppy raises £500 by first hair cut

Young Poppy Moore, from Moneyreagh, at the hairdresser’s for the very first time, sporting her long locks just before getting donating 12 inches cut off to donate to the charity, The Little Princess Trust.

TEN year-old Poppy Moore, from Moneyreagh, made her very first salon visit one to remember when she donated her hair to support The Little Princess Trust.

Poppy bravely parted with a whopping 12 inches of her beautiful hair, which will go towards making wigs for children and young people experiencing hair loss through cancer treatment and other conditions.

What makes Poppy’s gesture even more special is that she has been growing her hair since she was very young, and this was her first haircut. So far, the young girl’s generous efforts have helped to raise £520 for the charity.

The team at Hair & Co, based at South Street, in Newtownards, were thrilled to be part of this milestone moment. Proprietor and stylist Lynsey Cleland had the honour of carrying out the girl’s inaugural haircut.

“It was an unforgettable and exciting experience for everyone involved,” said Lynsey.

Hair & Co said it was ‘very proud’ to partner with The Little Princess Trust, and would like to thank Poppy for her thoughtfulness and generosity.

“Her donation will help bring comfort, confidence, and smiles to children who need it most,” she added.
