A COMMUNITY arts programme has been praised for its engaging content.
Ards and North Down alderman Robert Adair has thanked c21 Theatre Company, along with all those involved, in the Creative Portaferry programme, held at Portico.
The 12-week community arts project was produced by c21 Theatre Company in partnership with Portaferry Recreation Hub Portaferry and local residents.
Since April 2026, participants have engaged in creative workshops exploring their personal connections to Portaferry, to produce a collection of poetry, prose and song.
Mr Adair said: “The performance was fantastic with everyone sharing their stories and memories of Portaferry through songs, dance and arts.”
Mr Adair praised directors Faith Dawson and Stephen Kelly, sound designer Keith Acheson, as well as participants, Elaine McBratney, Charleen Doran, Susan Patterson, Alan Patterson, Lorna Spence, Kerry Shields, Moira Ritchie and Jamie O’Neill.
“It was a fantastic night of music, stories, laughter and tears, sharing what is beautiful about Portaferry its people and place at Portico Portaferry,” Mr Adair concluded.
