Readers Request

NORTH Down Hockey Club are asking Chronicle readers for their help in identifying members of the club’s Kirk Cup-winning team from 1921/22.

The oldest hockey tournament in Ulster and the oldest provincial hockey trophy in Ireland, the Kirk Cup is still played for today as one of Ulster Hockey’s coveted senior trophies.

The Comber club believe that the photograph below is very likely to include the team captain  Hugh Proctor as well as two Alexander brothers, Jimmy and Robert, but they would welcome any input that readers may have in helping to name any other players featured in the photo.

Should anybody have any information, they are invited to contact Jim Patterson at: jim.patterson@talktalk.net.
