REDS FAN BELLA MARKS 101st BIRTHDAY

AN avid Liverpool FC fan has celebrated her 101st birthday in Millisle.

Isobella – or Bella – Adair marked the milestone occasion on November 7, at the home she shares with daughter Eileen and son-in-law James. Born in 1921 in Scotland, Bella Tofts was three years old when her family moved to Conlig.

When she married Bobby Adair, she moved to Newtownards, her hometown until 16 years ago when she moved in with Eileen and James. Her favourite football team is Liverpool, and Bella is a great supporter of former Reds player, Steven Gerrard; last year, she was thrilled when Steven sent her a personal letter offering congratulations on her 100th birthday.

Bella’s other loves include James and Eileen’s dog, Holly, with whom she insisted on having her photograph taken. She also delights in regular visits from her four great-grandchildren – Reece and Zara, who live in Donaghadee with their mum and dad, Steve and Jeanette, and Jake and Matthew, sons of Simon and Andrea from Millisle.
