Regent House Athletes shine at Irish Schools’ Championships

A talented group of athletes from Regent House proudly represented their school at this year’s Irish Schools’ Championships, competing across a wide range of track and field events.

Among those taking part were Gabby Scates and Clara McKay in the senior girls’ 100m hurdles, with Clara also competing in the triple jump. The senior boys’ 4x100m relay team featured Jack Bright, Finn McClean, Stephen Kelly and Harrison Jamison, who also competed in the 400m.

The intermediate girls’ squad was strongly represented by Isla Henry, who competed in both the 100m and 4x100m relay, alongside relay teammates Eva Patton, Katie Johnston and Sara Devany. Sara also took part in the 80m and 300m hurdles.

In the field events, Erin Coard competed in the intermediate girls’ hammer and shot put, while Bella Hawkins and Isla Bailie lined up in the minor girls’ 75m hurdles. Tilly Hunniford represented the school in the junior girls’ 75m hurdles, and Harry Palmer competed in the intermediate boys’ discus.

The championships provided an excellent opportunity for Regent House athletes to test themselves against some of the best young competitors in Ireland, and the school is proud of the dedication, commitment and achievements of all those who took part.
