
THE opening round of the Ulster Superbike Championship will be held on Saturday at Bishopscourt Race Track, hosted by the Temple Club.
TT and NW200 rider Conor Cummins, of Team Burrows Engineering, will be taking part in round one of the Superbike Championship.
Russell Racing’s Richard Cooper, a five times NW200 winner, has confirmed his entry for round one also. Cooper will compete in the Superbike, Supersport and Supertwin events on both Yamaha and Kawasaki machines
BSB Superstock 1000 rider Jamie Lyons has confirmed his entry in the Superbike pro class for round one. Burrows Racing rider Jack Burrows confirms he too will take a break from BSB series to make a return to Bishopscourt and compete in round one.
Jeremy McWilliams joins Jason McCaw’s JMcC Roofing race team for a full season of USBK racing. The former 250 and MotoGP winner will ride the impressive Ducati Panigale V2 this season, competing in Superbike, Supersport and Supertwin events.
2024 USBK winner Jonny Campbell, winner of the Bertie Mann trophy in 2024 and was named Irish Short Circuit rider of the year, hopes to retain his title for a second year. Jonny will race under ‘155 Racing Team’ on his brand new BMW M1000RR.
Ballynahinch man Korie McGreevy, of McAdoo Race Team, won the Supersport class in 2024, taking third in Superbike and Supertwin. With two new Kawasaki bikes this year McGreevy means business and is at the top of his game.
Former British Superstock and Supersport winner Andy Reid joins the JMcC Roofing race team for a second season with a new BMW Bike to race on, while Spence Engineering rider Aaron Spence will compete for the SBT Ireland Superbike pro title this year on a Honda Fireblade.
SBT Ireland backed rider Carl Phillips rejoins the JMcC Roofing race team on a Kawasaki ZX10R. USBK winner 2019 Phillips has a solid chance of regaining the championship title in 2025.
Christian Elkin never fails to impress on the tarmac, he won the 2024 Supertwin class, taking second place in the Supersport. Elkin has his sights set on a Supersport and a Supertwin win in 2025.
Gibson Motor’s Ryan Gibson, was second in the Superbike last season proving he is one to watch this championship on a brand new BMW M1000RR. Global Oils Magic Bullet rider Ross Irwin is back with Stanley Watson’s team again this year on a new Fireblade.
There has been an influx of entries for round one of this season’s Ulster Championship since the announcement that local short circuit fan and business man Alun Gorman of SBT Ireland
Telecommunications will be title sponsor of this year’s racing, putting up a significant prize fund of £12,000 for the overall top six riders, in addition to a prize fund for each round of the championship.
In USBK Round One there will be more than £4000 prize money plus trophies up for grabs thanks to all the Temple Club Sponsors: SBT Ireland, SG Jones Building Supplies, David McGrory Ltd, Megoran Quarries, Ashvale Engineering, Spence Engineering and WD Foods Bangor.
Round onel kicks off at Bishopscourt Race Track on Saturday, April 5, with the first race at 11am.
Admission is £15 payable at the gate or tickets available on the website www.templemotorcycleclub.com. Under 16s go free, admission includes a programme of the days racing.
