SURPRISE GUEST FOR COMBER COUPLE DURING ANNIVERSARY

A COMBER couple have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family get together.

Usher and Annie Roulston were surprised during their blue sapphire anniversary celebration by family friend Daniel O’Donnell.

The celebration took place at Cuan Court, in Newtownards, where the couple now live, on December 27, with their family, dedicated staff and other residents.

Entertainment was provided by The Talented Tom, The Music Man.

The couple were married in 1958 at Carrickmannon Chapel and went on to have five children and 10 grandchildren.

Their daughter Marie says the secret to their long marriage is that they are ‘still very much in love’ and ‘kept the love alive’.

The couple have known Daniel for a long time, and he came to their 50th anniversary and surprised them, but this time he said he had said he would FaceTime them.

However, his unexpected arrival suddenly surprised everyone.

Marie said: “He was at his step-daughter’s house in Banbridge so he decided just to come up and surprise them.

“He knows the residents and they all love him; he sent them all calendars before through my sister.

“They took a video of the residents and sent it to him and he sent one back, so there was great excitement.”
