BELFAST and District Motor Club hosted round three of the SBT Ulster Superbike Championship, which also included the second round of the Charles Hurst Motorcycle Village Big 3 Championship, at Kirkistown racing Circuit on Saturday.
In the opening King of Kirkistown Superbike race, reigning champion Carl Phillips took the Bell Bikesport B&W Racing BMW into the lead from the start.
Aaron Spence was in second place on his Honda, with Jonny Campbell third on his BMW,
followed by Scotland’s Luke Jones, Ryan Gibson and Ross Irwin.
Phillips controlled the race from the front, with Campbell establishing second place mid-race.
On the final lap, Phillips took the win, ahead of runner-up Campbell, as Gibson managed to take third away from Spence. Jones came home in fifth, while Jamie Lyons claimed sixth.
Race two was also won by Phillips, but he was chased all the way by Campbell, with the
winning margin only 0.793 of a second at the flag.
Gibson clinched third place and Lyons took fourth, as Spence and Mark Hewitt completed the placings in fifth and sixth respectively.
Korie McGreevey guided the McAdoo Kawasaki to victory in both Crown Prince Supersport
races. Christian Elkin took second place in race one, on the Bell Bikesport B&W Racing Ducati, followed home by Rab McAuley, Francisco Faraldo, Ross Martin and Gary Scott.
In race two, McGreevey crossed the line ahead of Phillips, who sneaked past Elkin to claim the runner-up spot, with Martin in fourth and William Donnelly holding off McAuley for sixth.
Elkin made amends in the opening President’s Cup Supertwins race, riding to victory on the Bell Bikesport B&W Aprilia, seeing off Kyle Cross, Hayden Clinton, Dean McMaster, Alexander Rowan and Lee Osprey.
He repeated the trick in race two, securing glory ahead of McMaster, Clinton, Cross, Osprey and Michael Clyde.
Ruben Sherman Boyd won both Lightweight Supersport races, staving off competition from
Hubert Tomaszewski and Buster Sherman Boyd.
Alfie Flynn was a double Moto3 winner, beating Matt Davidson in race one and two, while Kyle Parkes was third in race one and William Graham took third place in race two.
In the Classic section, Malcolm Love won both 250cc races, Kyle Parkes was a double winner in the 350cc class and Mark Johnson claimed glory in both 500cc races.
Tomaszewski won both Moto 1 events, followed home by Joel Haire and Jay Coates, before
Richie McLoughlin and Jonathan Gregory won a race each in the Superbike Cup and Conor
O’Donnell and Steven Love shared the honours in the Pre Injection class.
Christian Boyles took his Kawasaki to victory in both Supersport Cup races.
