Winter rally at Kirkistown this weekend

THE next RSA Rally will be held on Saturday, November 22 at the Kirkistown Race Circuit.

This will form the second round of the RSA Winter Championship and spectators can see an array of rally cars and race crosskarts with over 125 competitors taking part.

The competition features a full entry of top-quality cars including R5 Fiestas, VW Polos and Hyundai World Rally specification cars together with ‘sideways’ rear wheel drive Escorts and Sunbeams and seriously fast front wheel drive cars including Honda Civics, Peugeots and Novas all gunning for class and overall honours.

Mini Cup champion and Bangor man Michael Curran will also be in the hunt for early championship points on his local track.

The event will also feature over 60 exciting European Crosskarts powered with phenomenally fast motorcycle 600cc and 1000cc race engines together with a field of over 20 Mini Cooper Cup race cars and the exciting Mazda MX5s.

Action begins at 9am but early access is available to the drivers’ service area to see pre-event preparation, with the main event kicking off at 10am.
