TWO young athletes from Andrews Memorial Primary School, Comber, made an impressive mark at the Ulster Individual Table Tennis Championships last week,
Hugo Herron (P4) and Darcy Drennan (P7) both delivered outstanding performances, comfortably progressing through the group stages and into the knockout rounds.
Hugo, competing at the Under 9 level, displayed remarkable skill and determination, reaching the final where he narrowly lost 3 sets to 2 in a thrilling match that went to a tie-breaker. His efforts earned him an impressive 2nd place in Ulster.
Darcy, playing in the Under 12 category, also fought her way to the final with confidence and composure. Despite a strong performance, she was narrowly defeated 3 sets to 2, securing a well-deserved 3rd place overall in Ulster.
This is a fantastic achievement for both players, and a proud moment for Andrews Memorial PS. Their talent, sportsmanship, and dedication are a credit to the school and the sport.
